Mr. Yadu Pati Katel is a seasoned surveyor with extensive experience in cadastral and topographical surveying, GIS mapping, and land demarcation in Bhutan. He is responsible for conducting detailed surveys, establishing control points, producing accurate maps, and supporting land conveyance processes with accurate fragmenation as per the clinets need/ choice. . He works closely with landowners, government agencies, and project teams to ensure compliance with legal and technical standards. Mr. Katel combines field expertise with advanced GIS and surveying software skills, maintaining accuracy, transparency, and professionalism in all survey and mapping tasks. His work supports informed decision-making and effective land management across national and regional projects. His initial career started with NLCS as a surveyor.

Career Start

The Gelephu survey operations commenced in 2019 following the establishment of the Land Record and Survey Division, as approved during the 156th Commission Meeting on 5 March 2019.

Over 19 years of professional experience in cadastral surveying, topographical mapping, control survey, georeferencing, GIS data processing, and land demarcation. Extensive field and office experience using Total Station, RTK GPS, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, LisCAD, and modern survey techniques. Worked on major national projects including the National Cadastral Resurvey Program, hydropower surveys, highway surveys, and urban development mapping. Proven capability in leading survey teams and delivering accurate, high-quality survey outputs for government and private sectors.

Possesses extensive expertise in cadastral surveying, topographical mapping, control point establishment, georeferencing, and GIS-based data analysis. Highly skilled in the use of Total Station, RTK GPS, AutoCAD, LisCAD, and ArcGIS for delivering accurate and reliable survey outputs. Professional competence includes plot demarcation, land fragmentation, contour generation, hydropower survey assessments, and highway alignment surveys.
